Lutz: Well, what's it wasn't he be named captain means a lot I think when you're voted as a captain by you the guys that you kind of come to work with every day you spend a lot of time with I think that's the ultimate sign of respect and yeah, I don't take it lightly. It's pretty cool. We have a lot of leadership and that's kind of what I said the other night I think this team is built to lead by committee has nothing to do with the sea under chests. I think we got veterans in the right in the right group. You know, I think as a kicker being a captain my job is to be a good teammate and make field goals as that tells me I accomplished that most of it so far but yeah, we got leadership in at every position and the team feels a lot older than it is, which is a good problem to have.
Lutz: A lot of plays on the field last year for him to earn this from a leadership standpoint. What does that say about and what sort of growth that you see?
Lutz: Yeah overdue DK's I mean he's a staple in our in our unit comes to work every day the same person and I think that's what you want as a leader on special teams and I'm happy for him he's earned every every bit of it. And so when you see a guy that's kind of come up through the ranks that he has with his story that's kind of how these special teams captains come about and that's kind of how they make a name for themselves and I think the best thing with DK's will be no drop-off in production and I'm excited to watch him work this year.
Lutz: Fans are obviously excited seeing you know bone aches back regular season opener after the ankle thing out of that. What's the level excitement I guess from the players just seen him kind of back there your guy behind?
Lutz: Yeah, I think look I think everybody's just ready to play obviously Bose one of our leaders and we know what Bose capable of and he's obviously a super talented quarterback and look, I think the hardest part about playing on Monday night is we got to wait and so I think everybody's chomping at the bit right now and shoot the Monday night I'll be here before we know it.
Lutz: Chiefs are often close that could involve you know in early or late you golf a lot stand over a lot of similarities to standing over a putt and what you do in a game through you in terms of?
Lutz: Yeah, I think just like any position obviously when you in a singular sport positions, you know golf kicking I think repetition routine experience is what separates how people handle those situations. I was telling someone the other day when when you've prepared yourself enough to stand over a putt a game winning field goal make a throw to to win a game and you can kind of just feel your body take over and almost watch it from third person is one of the coolest feelings in the world. And so I haven't made many putts for money, but I would assume that that's what it feels like to win the Masters.
Lutz: Yeah, I mean it's you you trust everything you've done throughout the season throughout training camp throughout the week that your body knows what to do in every situation and unfortunate to have played long enough to seen every situation have been in every situation and so I just trust my preparation trust my routine that you know when when it is tight when the game is on the line that your body just kind of takes over and what you do works and I think you know for the most part I've been able to do that.
Lutz: You certainly have adjusted to having a kick when the wind changes that translated on the golf course. Can you?
Lutz: Well, I didn't want to brag I did, you know shout out to the Cherry Creek Friday game guys I won the member guests over there right before training camp had a six-footer to win it and so when I say that I couldn't feel anything that was what I was alluding to.
Lutz: Yeah, awesome atmosphere, I think that's the coolest thing about our division we play in some really cool atmospheres Arrowheads iconic I think look they're just as excited for the season as we are. So I think the good news is we're prepared for it we've everyone here has played there and I think that's the best thing about the continuity of this team. No one's running out there deer in the headlights I think everyone's prepared for you know, whatever's thrown at us Monday night and man I'm excited to excited to see see the place rocking.
