Kupp: What's up everyone? How's it going? Fantastic.
Kupp: Yeah, just the flow of the league man. Just the flow of the league. That's uh, it's cool though.
Kupp: Yeah, so that's cool. Yeah, it's crazy how it all changes, isn't it? Makes this league fun to talk about before just the constant adapting and changing of how offenses and defenses work against each other. So it's pretty cool.
Kupp: Yeah, I think that'll be really valuable for him. I mean, you're talking about a ton of reps between walkthroughs and practices and things like that. So just a lot of opportunities to ultimately still be able to go out there and just play, right? Like, uh, I think there's um on one side of it, you got the opportunity to go out there like last week and you just have to let rip. There's no, there's no time to be thinking because you're out here going.
Kupp: Um, and you know, I think having the opportunity to prepare hopefully allows anything that he would have carried out there with him that he felt slow on. They felt like was behind on, um, given him an opportunity to just really play completely free, um, and let rip the way he was.
Kupp: Yeah, well, I think there's always this constant communication and I think, you know, the quarterbacks here have done an unbelievable job in terms of like there's not a whole lot of conversations that happen with Sam that Drew's not right there having that same conversation. I mean, those guys work so well together.
Kupp: Um, you know, and so, you know, just like Drew has always been in Sam's back pocket in terms of, you know, bouncing things off of each other and collaborating together, you know, Sam's gonna be that same exact thing for Drew this week.
Kupp: Um, and uh, you know, so there's gonna be some carryover just from that side of things, right? Like the amount of time that we've had conversating about these things and him seeing things the same way that we do at receiver and that's just about making sure we're dialing in, making sure that there's a a great intent during the week here to make sure we're maximizing our time.
Kupp: You know, the time of practice and hopefully, you know, you're not just standing on the side. You're over there talking through what's coming up or what you saw to make sure that we can be on the same page come Sunday.
Kupp: Last season? The entire season? Not, not very many. Um, yeah, somewhere in that region.
Kupp: Yeah, well, you know, there's like a lot of the quarterbacks work happens before the snap, right? Like you're, you are the conduit by which all communication comes through for the entire offense. And, um, there's a lot of leadership and organizational parts, stuff that has to happen, a lot of communication has to happen.
Kupp: So, you know, there's a, an element of being in the huddle and understanding, you know, the cadence of how Drew wants to get the play from Brian to us, right? How does he want to communicate to us in the huddle?
Kupp: Um, guys just being locked in. And then, you know, ultimately having, you know, not being so, um, fragile, being malleable to the point of being able to get what you need out of these things.
Kupp: Um, make sure there's communication also going back up the chain in terms of, you know, hey, these cadences are good. They're jumping the snap counts or things like that.
Kupp: Um, so there's a lot of communication that goes back and forth. And I think it's really like during the week, guys being on top of it, guys being on top of, you know, the intent, not just sitting there and be like, oh, this is different, but being able to say, okay, how can we make sure that we're by Sunday, all on the same page, um, and operating the way we want to.
Kupp: Yeah. Well, I thought, you know, during training camp, he did an unbelievable job in terms of just slowing things down. Um, seem like last year, there were times where like, you know, it was just ahead of him.
Kupp: You know, there's a, there's a new offense and there's a lot of learning that's going on. Um, but he did a great job this year in terms of slowing down and making throws, um, being able to get out of the pocket.
Kupp: We need so many session and incredible athlete, um, you know, having a little bit more of just allowing himself to play. I think that's really what it comes down to is, uh, he's an incredible football player.
Kupp: So there's allowing his natural abilities to come out. Um, and you know, he can rip it. So, um, you know, that, uh, I'm sure just like anyone would say comfortable with whatever it ends up, ends up, um, being, but you, uh, you know, I think Jaylin's done a great job.
Kupp: Yeah. Well, I think, you know, certainly from the defensive side of things, it was, uh, you know, I think that last drive there's kind of a great example of, you know, that coming to life.
Kupp: Um, you know, offensive, I think there were times that we were maybe bending ourselves a little bit with just, you know, pre-snap penalties, things like that.
Kupp: It's like, hey, there's just, there's opportunities for us to stay ahead of the sticks and we need to do that when, especially when it's things that we can control, um, completely on our own.
Kupp: And so, but there was the ability to overcome a lot of that stuff to go find ways to get, you know, more points on the scoreboard than the other team.
Kupp: And so, um, you know, there's, there's definitely some stuff that we've got to remedy, um, and, and want to be better at, but there was, I think there's a great, uh, examples of that happening on both sides.
Kupp: Well, I'd say every single person that stepped on that field, um, offensively had a hand in in some way, right? Like we, we are all responsible for, um, making the least of these plays come alive.
Kupp: And so, um, you know, you come in here on, on, uh, Thursday last week and it's like, you know, everyone's hands up. Who's, who's responsible for it? Everyone here will put their hand up and say we can, we can do a better job.
Kupp: Um, so it's not on one person to be better. It's on all of us to find a way to make these things come alive.
Kupp: Yeah, I think you try to keep it as, as similar as possible. I think those guys do a good job of that, but there's going to be some differences.
Kupp: There's going to be some stuff that's, um, you know, some nuance to it that's different, but, um, like, like, you know, we've, we've also, we've heard Drew call cadence, you know, we've, um, uh, you know, we're gonna go through this whole, we're gonna go through this whole week and be able to hear his cadence.
Kupp: And, um, and like I said, it's not just the cadence, it's just the communication all across the board that goes on before the ball's even snapped.
Kupp: Um, that's gonna be great stuff for us, you know, getting those reps and making sure we're, um, like I said, very having intentional mindset, um, when it comes to practice.
Kupp: Yeah. Um, you see some of the stuff, some, some of that carryover from some of the stuff that, uh, Rallis has done before.
Kupp: Um, you know, I think he, you know, that defense was kind of, um, they did a good job accentuating the talents of the people they had over there, you know, and so there was a little bit of an ability to morph and move, um, based on the guys that they had.
Kupp: And I think they've kind of, um, continue to stick to that mindset.
Kupp: Um, you know, regardless of whoever the coaches are that are over there, you know, coaching the guys now, there's a lot of similar, um, schematical pieces to the defense, um, and present a lot of good challenges for us.
Kupp: So, um, it's going to be going to be fun being out there and competing against those guys. You know, they, they run around, um, and, uh, yeah, they compete. So it's going to be, it'll be fun.
Kupp: 42.0 dog. I mean, that seems a little egregious. Um, but, uh, yeah, I don't know.
Kupp: I mean, I think, uh, I don't know, you know, I, I'm, I really like Jed Fish. I obviously have proof of the eggs.
Kupp: Um, but I don't, I think offensively they can do some stuff, uh, to make sure that 42 is not a situation that happens.
