McVay: OK, guys, as far as injuries for today, Colby Parkinson will be a DMP. He'll be questionable for the game. Terrence Ferguson and Allen Watson and Aaron Donald, they'll be out for the game. Grant Stewart is groin sore. He'll be questionable. Other than that, good to go.

Reporter: Can you give us a little bit more detail on Aaron, what's happening?

McVay: Just got some soreness there, Gary, just working through it. And kind of like what I've always talked to you guys about, I think our job as coaches is put our players in positions that have successful outcomes. He's as tough as it gets, just not feeling good enough. And I think it would be irresponsible on my part. And obviously, talking with Reggie to ask him, he would do it. And he could probably go be productive. But part of our job is to protect and so understand the question, but, you know, Aaron is certainly an exception, and I think we would all probably be in agreement on that.

Reporter: We talked to Bubba yesterday and asked him about special teams, punt return, in particular, and he said there wasn't any thought at that point of making a change, and you guys made a move this morning with, can you-?

McVay: Yeah, you know what, and I'm glad you asked me about that. Number one, very appreciative of Xavier Smith. You know, I think when you look at his journey, there's a lot of cool things that are reflected in sports of overcoming odds and doing some different things, and I love him, appreciate the person, you know, the hard part is, and you tell him, and you tell the team is that, you know, ultimately, you know, my job, and it's one of the worst worst parts of it, but it is a part of the job responsibility is you.
