Odell Beckham Jr. is signing with the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, per ESPN.
Read the second half of that sentence again. Practice squad. Beckham is not on the Vikings' 53-man roster, not a game-day elevation, and not a player you can slot into a fantasy lineup this week. The name is bigger than the current role.
So the correct move in season-long leagues is nothing. Do not burn a waiver claim. Do not cut a productive bench piece for him. A practice-squad receiver is a depth-chart insurance policy, and until Minnesota moves him to the active roster he has no route participation and no target share to chase.
DFS gets the same answer, only louder. He isn't in playable pools, which means there's no salary to exploit and no leverage to gain.
The one thing worth doing is a watchlist note. If the Vikings elevate him and he's actually running routes in a game, the math changes and I'll say so.
My verdict, signed: this is a headline, not a transaction for your roster. Beckham's fantasy value today is zero, and anyone adding him off the name alone is paying for a highlight reel instead of a role.
