Anton Harrison, LT for the Jaguars, addressed the media during a press conference on September 5, 2026. The session provided an opportunity for Harrison to discuss his physical and mental preparation as the team approaches the upcoming season, reflecting on his growth and experiences during training camp.

Transcript

Harrison: I feel great physically and mentally. Obviously, the confidence is there. Just trying to grow in last year and become one of the most dominant players in the game.

Harrison: Yeah, definitely. Obviously, first going back, you had a little growing pain, just getting back into it. Obviously, that's something I did my whole college career. That's something that was just natural, so it wasn't a crazy switch, but just something that took a couple days, and then just like you riding a bike, you're right back in there.

Harrison: For me personally, I feel like it was good. It was a great growing camp. Obviously, it was a lot of good, but also some bad. And you want that in the camp. You don't always want it to be all good because you want to be able to grow and have learning experiences, so that was something definitely that every loss I took, I took that as a growth. I wanted to learn from it, get better from it, and I feel like that helped a lot.

Harrison: Oh, yeah, definitely. I feel like in the practices, it's not, I want to say, genuine work. Then in the preseason, because obviously, in the game, you're going to play, it's a game, it's a genuine work, but practices feel like it's more personal because it's not as many people watching. You're just going against another player, so you try to take as much from that, learn as much from that, so I definitely enjoy them.

Harrison: Oh, yeah, definitely. Just kind of, I was just dancing a little different, things like that, but the hands natural, just certain things you do that I did on the right side, just more natural on the left side, so just kind of getting back into that and just moving faster, getting faster every day and my technique and things like that.

Harrison: Yeah, that was something that was like the first time. I never played right. I came in, and that was the only thing I did, just training most left. Obviously, I trained both sides a little bit, like coming into the league, but mostly left, so coming in or something, I just had to hone in. They said I'm playing right tackle, so I had to go play right tackle, so I had to try to perfect that, and now I'm back on the left, so it's just kind of the same thing, but more experienced at it.

Harrison: Something like that. I'm not more like everybody else, like the Cole, he played all four, and Walker, things like that, but I could definitely switch sides.

Harrison: He, honestly, every day, he's the same guy. He wants to be a pro. He is a pro, and he wants to be the best guy out there. All you see, he's in every day, same mindset, that killer mindset. He wants to get better. He wants to learn. He always asks him questions and meetings on the field, so he's always trying to grow. He don't want to really let anybody down. He don't want to let anybody down. We see that. Like, you're not going to be perfect. You're a rookie. You're going to make some mistakes, but if you make some mistakes 100 miles per hour, you're going to be fine in this league, so he's taking on to that, and he's getting better every day.

Harrison: It definitely, I wouldn't say add more, because I'm confident in E-Man and what he can do out there with us, and we've been playing together a little while now, so we're getting used to each other, but it's definitely, I say, it puts more on my plate. I still feel like the young guy, kind of, being only 24 in year four, but obviously, like, he's a rookie now, and I'm in year four, so obviously, I got there more of a leader role, so obviously, he looked up to me, things like that, so also, I got to be there for him, and just lead him in the right direction.

Harrison: Yeah, that's definitely crazy. We talk about it all the time, huh? I'm year four, and I think I'm the second or third youngest on the whole line, so it's crazy to think about, but it's good to know that I have that, and I have the experience, and I can put it on to other guys, even if they're older than me and things like that.

Harrison: Verst is still a great player. There's still going to be some competition. Obviously, that's two different type of players, but it's still a great matchup to have, and it's something I'm really excited for, something I've already got there, and just show everybody.

Harrison: It was something I just loved to cook, something I always did. I always cooked for the homies and stuff, so I was like, why not try to make some? We ain't having NIL, so I needed an extra couple dollars, so I used to sell place once a week. I used to put the mean you out on social media, Snapchat and Instagram, things like that, and they used to sell out every week. I used to switch it up. If we was all some weekends, I used to brunch on the weekends and things like that, so people when I was at Oklahoma, if you asked them, they'd know about it, and I was always selling meals in place.

Harrison: Everybody loved the Rasta pasta. I liked Jamaicans, spicy, got the peppers, chicken. I put shrimp in it sometimes, but the Rasta pasta, the garlic bread. I tried to switch it up. I tried not to do the same thing, but if it was a fan favorite, I'd bring it back.

Harrison: I'm going to definitely have something to do with food. I don't know if I want to be in the kitchen when I'm doing football, but I'm going to definitely be doing something with food.

Harrison: Favorite high school memory? For me, I wouldn't say it's just one game. I'd say kind of my whole high school career, because that's when I started playing football in high school, and then my high school wasn't that good freshman year. We was 0-10. Second year, we went 1-9. All the way up to senior year, we went to the states and conference championship. So it's kind of just that whole journey of turning it all around from a freshman to a senior year, playing varsity all four years, first time playing football, getting offers, things like that. So it's kind of the whole experience, getting to love the game, things like that, and kind of turning the organization and the school around.

Harrison: No problem. Thank you.
