Worthy: Go ahead, guys. How are you feeling health-wise after getting through all the preseason ready to go right now?
Worthy: Yeah, I feel good, obviously getting ready to start the regular season. I feel good. We got back out there today, it was hot today, so it was good. Good work today.
Unknown: David, we already started looking at Denver, at least what they presented, what you guys had last year versus maybe how they look in the preseason?
Worthy: Yeah, we kind of just been doing like, we kind of get into it. We're gonna get into it probably next week. We kind of just been getting into this, obviously, the fundamentals. Obviously, a lot more of our scheme. We've probably been running plays to study and obviously just for Denver, but haven't put a name on it. So obviously, just staying tuned and getting ready for the season, obviously.
Unknown: You did a little bit of work the other night. Do you feel like you got enough work and game situations to be ready? And how about it's just as far as you haven't had a chance to work with Pat and game situations this year?
Worthy: Yeah, I mean, me and Pat, we kind of been working in this off-season and obviously the time in and stuff we need to work on. But playing that game, we were telling the coach like, dang, because we're gonna play two drives, we might as well play the first half. But once you're in there, it's kind of fun, it's competitive. You want to be a competitor out there and play. So I feel like when it's time to play, we'll be ready.
Unknown: When you launch and think about your first two seasons, what do you want to improve out the most in the third year?
Worthy: Being more consistent, obviously building our relationship, our quarterback, and that would help with it. So just being more consistent and obviously being available.
Unknown: Because they were given, Pat was going through rehab. How did you put in the work of him this off-season?
Worthy: I actually came back early to work with him a little bit, but some of my rehab. So just getting that chemistry obviously on and off the field as your quarterback is obviously important. So I came back early just to get that in hand with him.
Unknown: So you're one through two, you were limited because of some of that initial injury. I guess in year three, how do you think your role may expand as far as what's being asked?
Worthy: Just being that down-the-field vertical threat and obviously running more routes where I could be physical at the top of the route. Last year, I obviously wasn't able to do that, had the soldiers. So now I'm healthy, so I can do that.
Unknown: What did you see from Patrick? I mean, he's going to potentially be back for week one. And I think how many people would have said that.
Worthy: No, he's back, ain't no potential. But I guess what you were here in the off-season with him. How did you see him work? What did you see from him?
Worthy: His grind, his will and want to is beyond anybody I've ever seen. It's just his want to. Pat, whatever he puts his mind to, he's going to do. And obviously, he kind of leads the team in that way. You have your leader leading like that and guys fall behind. So he's just a will guy and always ready to work.
Unknown: Couple more. It's you and type one and Rishi out in the field. How do you feel that combination is working out there with all the reps you've done?
Worthy: Yeah, we're building that connection together. We kind of have that communication and chemistry together. So I can't wait to see what we're going to do this year. I feel like we're going to do big things.
Unknown: Last year, we can talk. Yeah, Xavier, for you, Coach O'Shea, what's that experience been like during this whole process?
Worthy: Man, Coach O'Shea, he's going to work you. I know y'all hear it out there. He's yelling finish, finish, finish. But yeah, Coach O'Shea, man, his leadership, obviously, that was huge for us. He's a leader in the receiving room. And obviously, he puts a lot on us. But I feel like we can handle this. So great addition to the room.
Unknown: Xavier, you've been through a couple of wild years. And you guys won all the close games a couple of years ago. Last year, you couldn't make those plays. When you look back at that game, is there a thread or something? Why things were so good one year and so bad the next year? Is it just a luck thing?
Worthy: I mean, you kind of watched it. It's just like working the little things. I feel like last year, we kind of weren't paying attention to that like we were the first year. We emphasized it, but like E.B. says all the time, it's the discipline. So I feel like we didn't have discipline in those times. You go back and look at the first game. We won a lot of those close one-point games. You go back and look at last year, we lost those games. So that's just the margin of the league, the league. Every game is so close. So just coming out and being disciplined and winning those games.
Unknown: Thanks, Xavier.
Worthy: Thank you. Appreciate that.
