Love: You guys moved the ball so well last week, what was the difference this week? What happened out there? It was just football at the end of the day, you know, you have highs and lows. Try to make sure we go out there and execute the best way that we know that we can. Today, we just, we didn't execute how we wanted to. But, you know, in the day, we still gotta get back in the lab and get back to work.
Love: Harris would say the offensive line is, you know, putting this on them and they need to be better, you know, anything but that. Nah, it's not, it's not on them, it's a team, you know. The offensive line is, you know, obviously the offensive line, but like, we work as a group, you know, running backs, receivers, you know, quarterbacks, like the quarterbacks make things better for the offensive line. You know, the offensive line helps the quarterback. You know, the quarterback gotta make checks for the offensive line. You know, running backs gotta pick up protection. The receivers gotta block and, you know, just do what they gotta do. So it's a team thing, it's not on the offensive line, it's on us as a team. You know, we didn't go out there and get the job done. So just next, you know, week, we're gonna get better.
Unknown: I think only six minutes on the field a second, just to find anything if you're not on the field, so how tough is that?
Love: It's tough, you know, football is a momentum game. If you ain't, if you ain't getting a rhythm, it's hard to stay, stay, stay, stay producing. So it's kind of tough on us, you know, obviously we want to ball more than six minutes, but you gotta make do what you get, you know. We did it today and we will. You know, this next upcoming week, we will do the best things for this offense and it's for a team, so to put us in the best position and win.
Unknown: Did Gianna switch things up in the second half just for them to kind of, you know, stop you guys?
Love: No, no, I mean, it was the same exact thing, we just didn't execute. It all comes down to execution, you know. You know, we're a tough team, we're a greedy team, like we play with, you know, some aggression, so like, it all comes down to execution, you know, and we didn't have the execution going into that second half and kind of like the whole game, like we were playing like ourselves, you know. And that's all it is, is you gotta go back to practice, you know, practice hard, execute in practice so they can translate to the game.
Unknown: You always have good perspective on things, how would you sum up this game?
Love: Yeah, I think just kind of got flat at the end. I think we started with good energy, like we was moving the line of scrimmage on the O-line and, you know, we were in the game and then I can't think at the end, we just kind of went flat. They're a great team, though, and we just let them be who they are in the show.
Unknown: How is that, just like the flat going out the second half?
Love: Yeah, it's just like the kick return, you know, like you get high because you see the ball out and then, oh my gosh, like it's crazy. It reminds me of their play that they had the two-point conversion last year, like the ball falls your way sometimes and it fell their way and they got a good return and good momentum for them. And so that play definitely hurt, you can just feel it for a group. So things like that, that sting a little bit, but we still got to respond and answer the bell and I think our defense did a great job of fighting and offense. We didn't compliment them well today, we left them out there and it was tough. So just as an offense, we got to be better on all phases.
Unknown: You guys played the ball so well with one, I noticed they did these things.
Love: Yeah, I think they played a good job in their zone, like their scheme. They were prepared and we just weren't able to hit the things we wanted to hit. Like, shoot, I had to drop. You know, after the turnover, I think, you know, I can make that catch. Things like that, that's how I look at it. You know, it's just down the field and just as a whole. So, you know, we all play our part and just executing. And they, I felt like their timing on defense was better than ours. Like, their clock was, they're just dropping back in zone. You know, we throwing a check down and then they're rallying to the ball. So like, their timing in that was Jacoby trying to read it, check down. So it's a hard game. So it's like they sped us up. They wanted to speed us up, but we, it's like we didn't match. We didn't match what they were showing us.
Unknown: Is that just couple of time together?
Love: Yeah, I think so. You know, O-line, you know, receivers getting to our spot. So I think it's, you know, they're the rain champs, man, and it shows. So really respect to them. And they're violent and they're aggressive.
Unknown: It was really cool to see some of the receivers in Jacoby. You guys just kind of talking about what happened. Just how cool is that just to have that camaraderie to kind of go off each other?
Love: Yeah, we want to support each other. And that's what the message is, just sticking together. You know, it's one game. So like, you know, we in a good position, came off a good win and now lost. So like, do we keep the same energy? And I think it's learning. It's adversity. And I believe in adversity. I think it makes the best of you. So I'm excited to attack the weak and have a positive attitude and learn from my mistakes. And as a group, and I think that's what the conversations are about.
Unknown: Steven, up top is just a last ride by Seattle. It's like 16 plays, 15 rushes, leading up 10 minutes. How tough is that out there?
Love: Yeah, I mean, I think everything just leading up to it is just, you know, one of those things. Right there coming out the gate, we get them on kickoff, we force a fumble. And then they, fortunately, they got it and got 35 yards from, you know, a linebacker. So, I mean, that's just one of the things that you see there. Still gotta go play defense, you know, and no matter what the field position is, and then, you know, on those long drives, you just gotta buckle down and get ready to play as much ball as necessary. You know, whether it's three and out or play 16 plays or however many it was.
Unknown: Coach, you talked about the offense really didn't help the defense out much today. They couldn't get anything going. That put you guys on the field.
Love: You know, it doesn't really matter whether they have, you know, 70 plays or, you know, 30. You know, we just gotta go out there and, you know, if they're in the red zone area, they get three. You know, if they're in the field goal area. So, they don't get, can't let them have seven. Can't let them get in the paint. So, that's kind of the rule we live by, you know, or at least force them out if they're on that kind of fringe line. And just, unfortunately, we didn't, I think we did it on one of them, not all of them. So, yeah, it sucks. You know, I thought we were very competitive playing really well on defense and then just had some slip ups in certain areas. You know, everyone's accountable and just kind of see what it was and then correct it and focus on it.
Unknown: If you're out there wild, this team has had your passes number for a minute. Is it frustrating that you guys can't just get one against each other?
Love: I mean, yeah, it's frustrating playing, you know, losing to the same team or just losing in general. It doesn't really matter, especially when you know you have a really good team and a really good offense, really good defense, really good special teams. It's just unfortunate whenever, you know, you kind of see it. I don't think the score reflects kind of how the game went, you know, because things kind of got hairy just there at the end. But it's just, it's part of the NFL, you know. I mean, yeah, it happens with, you know, those teams that have big crowds. And yeah, it's, you don't pay attention to it. You should go out there and play the ball.
Unknown: We don't see the gold standard that people are coming out that Super Bowl win. What did you learn about where this team is compared to Seattle right now?
Love: Last year, compared to this year. Like right now, how far away are you guys from back to where we were? I mean, I think it's so early. I mean, you can't really tell. Everything factors into it, injuries, you know, what happens throughout the season. So, I think you just got to put your foot in the ground and try and play the best ball with what you got, where no matter what your record is, no matter who you're playing. Whether they're Super Bowl champions, or they were the worst team in the league last year, whatever it may be, you got to go out there and do it.
Unknown: So if you had a nice one, the recovery, just what did you see on that play? Did you know the ball was coming out?
Love: Obviously, you were going after it for a while. Yeah, I think, I don't know if they gave me the force on it, but I tried to rip it out. So, yeah, it was just a secondary gap. Someone had hit him and I saw the ball was kind of loose and I just, sorry, I just put my hand up under there and ripped it out, yeah.
Unknown: How do you avoid just this roller coaster ride of winning last week, losing this week and then going to San Francisco? How do you avoid that?
Love: You just kind of got to watch the tape, correct the things that we messed up. Most of the technique errors, whatever it may be, maybe some mental errors and just go and focus on those for a couple days, understand whatever San Fran may be doing and then try and incorporate that to this week's work. I think we do a good job of just practicing well and not dwelling on whether the bad are good. So I think we have pretty level heads.
Unknown: So how quickly can you flush it and move on?
Love: Yeah, I mean, you got to flush it immediately. That's part of it.
