Brissett: Obviously, that didn't play out the way you guys wanted it. It seemed like until we were 10, that first half went the way you wanted it. Maybe you didn't get all the plays you wanted at the first half. Did anything change at halftime?
Brissett: Yeah, like you said, I think in the first half, we had our chances. Obviously, didn't capitalize on the ones that we needed to in those critical points. And then second half, just not good football on us in all phases of our offense. And obviously, it starts with me. But just get back to your drawing board and go forward.
Reporter: What's your reaction to that one? Just your initial reaction after the game?
Brissett: Yeah, I mean, hats off to them. They came out and played really well, sorry, a really good football team. It's early in the season, I mean, and we're obviously still trying to figure out what we are as offense as a team and things of that nature. The easy thing is to be able to overreact just like last week would have been easy to overreact to something like that. But it's a long football season and you just go back to work.
Reporter: On that note, what did you learn then from tonight's performance?
Brissett: Yeah, first really good teams, you can't waste plays. It's just, I know it's like coach talk or like the same thing. It's just like how important the details are of each play because you never know which play is gonna be the play that is the important one.
Reporter: What's the difference between you guys and the senior obstacles?
Brissett: I don't know, it'd be hard for me to say that right now. Obviously, I gotta go back and watch the film. And the easy answer is we need to play better, and that's just really what it is.
Reporter: It seemed like when you were under pressure, it was really hard for the offense as a whole to get anything going. Is there anything that you saw that was making that the case compared to last week? Have you guys had so much success when you were under pressure?
Brissett: No, I mean, you gotta go back and watch the film again and see how I can be better in those situations and see if it was a tale or anything like that. But other than that, it's just being better, it's a plain and simple.
Reporter: Week two, is this a good litmus test for you guys just to see how you compare it?
Brissett: For sure, I mean, Super Bowl champs, you know what I mean? They're gonna be a good test for everybody, and it's the National Football League. So every week is honestly a test. It's a matter of, you obviously just can't let one lead to two.
Reporter: Is there anything that you felt like they were doing tomorrow, if it was taking him out of the game?
Brissett: I think they played their defense well. They stayed in the structure of staying too high, you know what I mean? It's kinda hard to push the ball and it was hard to find completions today. And the good thing is, it's week two, you know what I mean? And you go back and watch the film and you figure out better ways to get all of the guys involved better.
Reporter: Is this offense built for you to look for him as much as it was last year?
Brissett: Yeah, I mean, it's just a matter of, it's week two. And it's frustrating for sure, you know what I mean? I'm sure it's frustrating for him, but it's also frustrating for me, but it's week two, you know what I mean? It's, you got a long football season ahead of us, and yeah.
Reporter: When you look at the things you wanna clean up, what's at the top of the list for you?
Brissett: Operation, you know what I mean? We came in in this game and saying that to beat a really disciplined, really good football team, it starts with the operation. And calling the right plays, getting up to the line of scrimmage, getting our feet set, things like that.
Reporter: What's it like throughout the week preparing for one of, if not the best defenses in the league?
Brissett: Yeah, it's tough, I think Mike does a really good job. And he teaches those guys to play their rules well. I'm sure, like our coaches said, it's no weakness on that defense. And you gotta pull teeth to try to find a weakness. But it's still at the end of the day, you gotta snap the ball and go play for good football.
Reporter: What's going through your head now?
Brissett: We're playing our football, you know what I mean? Obviously certain things, one, you guys see 7-7 and then we see like, damn, we had this opportunity and that opportunity. And then the mindset was to come out, play good football and go get a win. That was literally what it was.
Reporter: How tough was it that last Seahawks driver, they went 16 plays, 15 rushes. They were 10 minutes. How tough is it for you on the sidelines watching that and just going on?
Brissett: Yeah, it's tough, I mean, that's not on the defense. I mean, we gotta give them something to help play for, you know what I mean? Keep the ball in our hands and go on those drives, so, yeah.
Reporter: What's most important of any opinion bad taste from lingering into the next week's game?
Brissett: Flush it, it's week two, you know what I mean? It's like the same as last week, it's fool's goal. If you let one week determine how you're gonna show up tomorrow, you're already behind the eight ball. And I think we got the right guys in the locker room. I think we got the right guy steering the ship as far as telling us of how to move on to the next one, you know what I mean? Because that's all you have, you know?
Reporter: Is it hard not to overreact?
Brissett: I mean, last week you guys, like, well, you won, then this week. This, I guess it's hard not to.
Brissett: No, I mean, you play well, you win, you don't play well, you lose. That's football, you know? It's very hard to play bad and win in this league, you know? And then when put into context, you're going against a really good football team, it's gonna be even harder, you know? But you just gotta find the ways that you can play better, you know?
