Bradley Chubb addressed the media during a press conference on September 15, 2026, as the Buffalo Bills prepare for their upcoming game. Chubb: Yeah, it felt good, it felt real good, man. Footing was good, wore the cleats, I was going to wear the game out there and didn't have any problems, so I'm excited to get to it on Thursday.
Chubb: Yeah, it's going to be electric, man. I'm excited to get in front of Bill's Mafia. We got a taste of it in the pre-season a little bit. But when the lights are bright Thursday night, everybody's watching at home and that stadium right there is going to be rocking, man. So I'm excited to christen the new stadium. It's going to be a lot of big plays being made in there. So hopefully we're on the right side of that and just keep this thing moving forward.
Chubb: Man, they got players at each level of the offense, on the line. You hear all about Panay Sewell, they got Jamar Gibbs, they got Jameer Gibbs. They got one back there, they got Jared Goff who's been doing it for a while. Jameson Williams, I couldn't think of his name for a second. But they got key playmakers at each position, man. And it's going to be big for us on defense to go out there and slow them down. They're going to make their plays because that's what they've been doing. That's what they do, they're going to make their plays. But it's about us just focusing, gathering all the information we can and being the best version of ourselves.
Chubb: Yeah, it's a good start, for sure. For sure it was a good start. Obviously my boy Greg went crazy, two sacks, two forced fumbles. And Dion had a good one at the end as well. So everybody wants to get the quarterback down and make those big plays. But play in and play out, just trying to be as disruptive as possible. I felt like it was a good start, a good first game to do that. And now it's just about learning from it, growing from it. And finding what I did right, and building on that, finding what I did wrong, and learning and growing from that. So it's going to be a long season, that's just game one. So I can't wait to see what the ironed out product continues to look like.
Chubb: Yeah, for sure. Still learning them though, still learning how Ed likes to get off, how Dion likes to get off. Landon when he was in there, how he likes to get off and just playing off that. Because that's what it comes down to at the end of the day, how we could play off each other. We all great individually, but when we bring it all together, how good are we? So I feel like it was, like I said, a good glimpse of that in the first game. And it's just about growing from that. I know me and Ed weren't satisfied by not getting to the quarterback. Greg and Dion, they got to the quarterback, but they still weren't satisfied and still want more. So it's gonna be a lot of hungry guys going out there, man. I'm excited to see where we go.
Chubb: Yeah, it's honestly insane. I saw it during OTAs a little bit, how nimble he was on his feet. And that's OTAs, so I'm like, okay, I'll see it in training camp, see how it is. Training camp, it was even crazier, and then we got in those pre-season games. And you saw it all come to life. So, man, Dion's one of those players, man, once in a lifetime. Being what, I don't even know how big he is, but he's a huge dude. And to be able to be so nimble, so quick, play so aggressive. And make plays all around the field, man. It's gonna be fun to see him continue to grow. He's only in year two, which is crazy when you see the plays he makes. But I'm excited to play next to him and see how good he can be. Cuz right now it's pretty good, I can't wait to see him be great.
Chubb: I thought he was poised, man. I thought he was a great leader of men in the moment. It wasn't favorable for us on defense a lot. We gave up points, but every time he was just right over there, like, hey, this is how we wanted to be. This is what we wanted. This is what we preached all throughout training camp. And all the messages we talked about through training camp came to life in that game, and he was right there leading us along the whole way. So I'm very happy that he got his first win in his first game. And you saw it on his face, too, how ecstatic he was after the great second at the end. So just wanna keep building, man. Keep building this whole thing up, not just on the offensive side, but on the defensive side as well, and making sure we, special teams as well. And making sure we all won a cohesive unit.
Chubb: Yeah, man, it's funny, cuz I didn't think he was gonna take the shutout. That's what we make with the rookies do, but I guess he's technically still a rookie. He's a rookie head coach, so he bought into it, man. And it's one of those things that we're gonna look back on forever and laugh about, smile about, and I'm glad I could be a part of it.
Chubb: No, it feels amazing, feels amazing, cuz I told all those guys, man, my past couple of stops, 31 points, it would have been a bad day for us. And we still wanna, like I said, get better from that. But when you got 17, man, nothing's out of the question. And it's funny because one of my good friends, Kareem Jackson, before I came here, he was like, he calls me chubby. He's like, hey, chubby, just wait till that boy 17 put that cape on his back. And it's crazy that the first came, he came out of there and did that. So we wanna make his job easier though, you know what I mean? So he doesn't have to put the cape on his back all the time. And all of us on defense taking that challenge. But it was fun to see, knowing that we can do that. We don't wanna live in that world, but knowing that at the end of the day, when all the pressure's on us, both sides of the ball gonna step up.
