That captaincy was earned before the hamstring injury, which matters. It signals Young had already replaced Jordan as the public face of the edge room. Without Jordan, that translates into first crack at base-down and high-leverage pass-rush snaps. Tyree Wilson has the draft pedigree, but Young has the coaching tell — he is the first edge defender to add in IDP, not the upside stash. The non-IR answer changes the timeline
Asked about not putting Jordan on IR, Moore referenced a window within the first four games. Treat that as a target, not a promise. The Saints want Jordan back in the opening month, which is exactly why they are not forcing him into Week 1. That split makes Jordan a stash only if your league has an IR slot and you can wait; it also means the defensive line rotation we see Sunday is a preview, not the final product.
