Young: It's not really something that really enters my mind. It's all about this week. We have a lot of respect for them. As a team, as a defense, obviously, this is a division game, it means a lot for us. So it's all about building that confidence this week throughout practice and getting ready to go out there.
Young: I mean, both have its challenges, both have its differences, but yeah, very matchy group. Guys that, especially on the perimeter, they play really well, understand concepts, do a great job, pattern match, and all that stuff. So we know it's going to take everything. We have to be executing at a high level to have success. So we're excited for the challenge.
Young: Yeah, yeah. I have all the confidence in the world in him. He's been working really hard. It was fun watching that in the preseason and everything, and then him in the side throughout the week working at it. So yeah, super excited for what he can bring to the team as a whole.
Young: I remember that it was a long time ago. Tommy did a great job, as he normally does, detailed. Again, that's a play in a game from years ago. Right now, it's about this week. That's in the past. When the game starts on Sunday, it's going to be 0-0.
Young: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. It goes throughout, but yeah, you definitely see that. I think T-Mac's earning that respect across the league. I think for us, we know that everyone respects that ability, knows what he can do. For us, making sure that we can find ways to still be able to get him the ball, still be able to scheme him open, and then still be able to allow him to do the stuff he does. He was still on Sunday doing a great job of when coverage was rolled, and even times that they were trying to bring an extra guy who was still getting open, still fighting, still doing a great job of scramble drills. So when you have a guy like that, obviously, the defenses, they notice, and then it was a great job of everyone stepping up, and that's the case. I have confidence in all the guys across the board, so whoever it is, I'm confident in them.
Young: Just reliable, consistent. Someone who, whatever you ask of him, he's going to give his all in. He's going to go and do it at a high level. Someone that's super, super versatile. I think throughout his career, there's so many different roles he's played. He's done it at such a high level, and a competitor. Someone who wants to go out there and compete, wants to win, wants to do whatever it takes to do that. That's what we all are about here in the building, so he embodies all that. So yeah, I'm super, super grateful he's with us.
Young: Yeah, a lot of hard work. A lot of work behind the scenes that the rest of the world is not able to see. How hard he pushes himself in the weight room, how early he's out there in practice. How much time in the weight room, in the training room he's prepping and doing small stuff that isn't on the lift car, stuff that he does on his own, and then stuff that even when he leaves the building, which is at a super late hour, but the times that he is, he's still at home having his own routine, stuff like that. So really, it's no surprise just seeing it translate. But I think if you ask anyone, not just on the team, you could ask anyone who works in the building, how hard Chuba works, how diligent he is about his process. I think it's just that showing up.
Young: Oh, yeah, way easier. Someone that you know is going to set that standard, someone that you can point at and go and be an example, especially as the way he approaches the game, his play style, all of that, that's the embodiment of who coach calls us to be with our play style and the stuff that he does. And yeah, as a leader, having someone like that, I mean, it makes my job so much easier.
Young: Yeah, I think he's another person that it's been really cool to see his process evolve and develop. He was someone that was always, you know, carried himself really, really well in college. But now being around him, being around in the offseason, seeing the little things he does, seeing how often he's, how much earlier after practice, before practice, how much later after practice, how much he's here doing little stuff just to get his body in tune. You know, having conversations, you know, especially when he first got here and even now watching film, asking questions, you know, being engaged and all this stuff. So I think there's just that next level that's been cool for me to see and especially, you know, being around him in college, then being away and now being back just seeing, you know, how much he's really pressed in to that prep, that process. And you see it on the field, you know, getting here and learning a new system. He was someone that, you know, you would have never known that, you know, it was new for him by the first day he got out here. You know, the way he plays, the way he understands play time, all that stuff. So you know, he's always had it, but just to see him continue in that matchup has been really cool to watch.
Young: Yeah, I think that I love how collaborative he is. How much conversation and feedback that, you know, we're able to have on the sideline. You know, he's super diligent on top of it as far as having notes, having thoughts, being that one or two plays ahead or two drives ahead on the sideline and being able to sit down and have that dialogue, you know, that's something that's been great. And you know, you don't really know that until you get into it. But that was one of the many things that stood out that I thought that Brad is did a great job with. So and then even now, you know, building out the plan, all that stuff, just being able to have those conversations, us being on the same page, you know, I want to be able to go out there and in the huddle drive, you know, what he wants to see and be able to, you know, what he wants, how he sees things going, me being able to see the same one so I can communicate it out to the guys and be the coach on the field for him. So that he did a great job making some on the field adjustments, sideline adjustments and adding some stuff in based off what he was seeing, which is, again, just someone who has their stuff in order and is able to, you know, go to that, be that one, two drives ahead. So, you know, I'm super excited for him and for us to continue to keep growing.
Young: Yeah, yeah, I mean, coach talks about it all the time. You know, our first goal is to win the South, you know, and obviously those division wins mean so much when you're trying to accomplish that goal. So, you know, you have the same process and you understand that you only get too high or too low, but, you know, again, this is a business, we're all pros and we understand what's at stake every time that it's a division opponent. So, you know, we're, again, we have a ton of respect for them, for them as a team, them as organization, you know, we know what this game means. So right now, it's just the process of pushing ourselves throughout the week to be at our best on Sunday. And then we're excited to go compete.
