Injury Report: Parsons, Tom Face Lengthy Recoveries After Season-Ending Injuries

The Packers' offseason training and preparation will be conducted without several key contributors, as the team manages significant injuries carried over from the end of the 2025 season. The most impactful is to star defender Micah Parsons, who suffered a non-contact knee injury in Week 17 against the Denver Broncos. An MRI confirmed a torn ACL, an injury that typically requires 6-9 months of recovery. Parsons' absence from offseason workouts and the potential delay to his 2026 season start is a major blow to the defensive front.

On the offensive line, starting right tackle Zach Tom is facing a six-month recovery timeline after recent testing revealed a partially torn patellar tendon. The injury, which involves his back and knee, will require offseason surgery. Tom's rehabilitation will likely extend into training camp, creating uncertainty on the right side of the line, especially with left tackle Rasheed Walker entering free agency. The Packers' depth was already tested, as they placed third cornerback Bo Melton on injured reserve in the final weeks of the season, the third cornerback to go on IR in a two-week span.

The injury list also includes tight ends John FitzPatrick, who suffered an Achilles tear in the Week 18 finale, and Tucker Kraft, who tore his ACL earlier in the season. While quarterback Jordan Love entered the offseason being monitored for a concussion from the Wild Card game, the long-term ailments to Parsons and Tom represent the most critical rehabilitation projects for the Packers' medical and training staff as they work to get key players ready for the 2026 season opener.
