Brown: Yeah, today was a big day. Today was a scrimmage day. So we knew going into it, that Friday was going to be a big day for us. And so we have these every year. We know going into, I mean, just me going on to year six, I kind of know how Dan runs the training camps. And so this is a big day for us, you know, go against the defense live, you know, get first, second, third down, play it out, whether it's second and 15, third and short, every situation is different, but I think you get good work, especially against our defense. They're a good group.
Brown: It was amazing. You know, we've been together since high school. Yeah. So 10 years together. I just felt right this summer felt right. You know, finally got to last year kind of had a busy off season rehabbing from injuries. So I was able to, you know, relax, be back in California with her. And it just felt right, man. I had a whole day plan for her. It took about three months to plan. So I planning and engagement is hard than anything. It's three months. It's hard than anything I've done in football because they're trying to keep it a secret. You know, she's asking where you're at. You're trying to get the ring, talk to her dad, so much more that goes into it, but it was amazing.
Brown: I think it is. I think it's a lot of, a lot of film study to, um, being on the same page with him. He obviously understands my body language when I'm running routes. Uh, so he knows he has a feel of when I'm breaking down and things like that. But I think just talking about the plays, I mean, we installed it this off season and OTAs and it was something that drew in a lot that worked for him. So he brought it here and we're like, you know, we think we can run it here. And you know, that was actually the first time I kind of ran it right. It worked out. Perfect. Um, but I think, like I said, he understands me, my body language, the timing, and we're just on the same page.
Brown: Yeah, I think we can have as 35. I think, I mean, 35 would set an NFL records. Would it? Yeah, exactly.
Brown: I think the one thing we're missing is a, is a Superbowl. Okay. That's the one thing we're missing. That's the mission.
Brown: It's a good, good division. I think it's one of the best. Uh, I think NFC West is really good. I think we're really good. Um, I mean you like in our division, whether it's the Packers, the bears, the Vikings, you never know is going to win. I feel like you can't say, although you might have a favorite. Oh, I think the lions are going to win. I think the packers are going to win. You really never know going into the game. So I think that's what makes our division so special is we're all capable at winning, winning games at any time, going against each other. Um, I think that's what makes this division so fun for us is the rivalry, the competition. Um, we're all pretty good teams. I think it's a great division.
Brown: Yeah, it's just another weapon for us. Uh, he does everything in the run game. He blocks his ass off. Uh, Ron routes, obviously has to tell great hands. He's open. He just opens it up more. So, uh, we're extremely excited to have him back.
Brown: I want him to catch like a screen. I don't know how you would do it. A Penay, like a left tackle spot. Yes. Like we, we throw a screen of Penay and let him, you're going to be the lead blocker. Sure. I'll do it. Um, I'll leave block for him. He does it all the time. So we'll switch roles. Yeah. Um, but I just want to see him with the bonus hands running downhill and everyone's going to try to go low. Obviously I'm going to tell him, just just lift your legs up a little. I promise you're going to jump over everybody.
Brown: Uh, I mean, it depends who you're asking. Okay. Yeah. I mean, I hear a lot of people, uh, given that respect and I see a lot of people don't, but I think he deserves all of it. He's been doing it very consistent. Uh, six years. Yeah. Going on your six years. He's been, he's done everything at a league level a year and you're out. So I mean, I don't know how you don't forget the respect.
Brown: Yeah, definitely, um, definitely it's changing. I think we've done a great job trying to evolve our game into being every down backs, you know, catching the ball, being, being elite in every situation so we can, um, you know, help the team in any possible way.
Brown: Just like every day. Yeah. Um, that's a good question. 200 catches on the team before we practice. Yeah, I just have like a routine. I feel like that I've, that I feel like if I don't do like, I'm missing something. So you know, they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Right. So I've been having the same routine for a while. Um, but I just try to like, when I'm in the moment, whether it's practice, uh, lifting, I try to stay like, you know, be intentional with what I'm doing, but then when I'm done with ball, I can enjoy my time off, whether I'm with my fiance, my boys, my family, but when I'm in the building, like I practice certain things. I try to make sure that I'm real intentional on what I'm doing, you know?
Brown: Uh, well, he loves, he's the same guy, you know, that you see on camera, um, with us. Um, he's very energetic. He's passionate about everything he does. Um, he's very intentional. He has a plan for us. Uh, he believes in us and he's, overall, he's a great person every time you're around him, you know, you can't help but smile and laugh. So yeah, we appreciate him a lot.
Brown: I think for me, you know, going on to year six with Dan, um, he's been the same guy since I, since I first met him as a rookie. Um, but I feel like he's even grown as a coach, you know, I'm able to say that as a player, because I feel like there's things that he's changed, um, that, you know, he realized he had to change for the better of us. Um, because, you know, when he first got it, we were all young, we've all, we're all six years older from when we first got here. So the team's a little bit older. Um, we got a little bit more vets now than when we first got here, we've won games. So he understands that. And he knows that, you know, at the end of the day, this is the player's game. We're going to go out there and make the plays. The coaches can only help us so much. Yes. They're going to design plays and what not, but we're the ones out there making the plays and Dan understands that. So he's just, um, he's so understanding. I think from the outside looking in, people would think he's a hard ass, but he's really a loving coach. Um, he loves his players. He listened to his players and he's, um, to me, he's the best coach I ever played for.
