Two. That's the whole class. The entire ESPN Fantasy Football Hall of Fame will open with exactly two players, and I couldn't be happier about it.

In a world where every game hands out participation trophies, the decision to start small is a statement. This is a monument to the best of the best — the players and moments that have defined a game that's been running since 1995. It's a nod to history, and history is exactly what fantasy football needs to remember.

Here's my take: this is a buy signal for the entire fantasy ecosystem. When a pastime builds a Hall of Fame, it's not declining. It's maturing. It's saying, 'What we've built matters enough to preserve.' That's the opposite of a dead game. That's growth.

So what do you do with this? You draft like the Hall of Fame is watching. That means prioritizing the boring, reliable producer over the flashy camp sensation. It means treating your roster as a long-term investment, not a weekly fever dream. The players who get into a Hall of Fame are the ones who showed up, year after year, and delivered when the lights were brightest. If you're in a redraft league, that should pull a few veterans up your board. If you're in dynasty, it should harden your resolve to keep the proven cornerstone rather than chase a shiny rookie.

Would I change my mind? Sure. If the first two inductees were one-year wonders, I'd call this a gimmick and move on. But the committee had 30-plus seasons of candidates and still chose two. That's restraint. That's respect for the standard. I'm not worried.

The Hall of Fame is here. It's small, it's selective, and it's exactly the sign we needed. Fantasy football was born in 1995 as a numbers game. Now it's a legacy. Get busy treating it like one.
