That familiarity matters as the Bears finalize their roster for the regular season. He gives them a reliable backup who can play in base packages and contribute on special teams without needing extra development.
For fantasy and DFS purposes, do not rush to the waiver wire. Sanborn is not a projected starter. He won't see consistent snaps outside of injury or blowout situations. In standard IDP leagues, he's barely a hold, and in single-linebacker formats he's irrelevant. His role is insurance, not upside.
