What it means: LaFleur was asked directly whether Jeremiyah Love's full week of practice earns more work, and he declined twice — once with a non-answer about the wording, once by saying he already has "roughly how many plays" scripted. That is a defined, capped role with a volatility kicker attached (ride the hot hand, bench the cold one). Then he volunteered the season frame: "16 more games guaranteed to us" and "we're gonna get past Christmas." That is workload management talking, which means committee all year, not a rookie takeover.
Concrete implication: Love, the No. 3 overall pick in 2026, is a best-ball and bench-stash asset, not a redraft starter. The touch leaderboard still runs through James Conner and Tyler Allgeier, who scored eight rushing touchdowns a season ago. The path to Love's relevance is an injury in front of him — and Conner's own three-game 2025 is the durability precedent nobody wants to cite out loud.
