Transcript

Unknown: Jeremiah, what was it like to get back on the practice field after missing a couple of weeks? I know you're not somebody who's missed a lot of time in your life, so what was that like to be able to get back on the team?

Love: It was great, you know, I'm always thinking of it as a blessing from God to just be able to go out there and play with my teammates. You know, I was just itching to get out there ever since I injured my ankle, so just being able to get out there, run some routes, you know, get the ball and do whatever I got to do has been nothing but a blessing from God. I'm just happy to be out there.

Unknown: In that Vegas game, how did it feel to kind of get in a rhythm and look like you got stronger as the game was going along?

Love: I mean, it felt great, you know, since before the Vegas game, I didn't play football since like November, so just getting back out on the field and making plays, hurting my guys, spending on a guy, like it was a great feeling because, you know, I love football, I love going out there and making plays and that was the first time I got to do it in my NFL career, so it was great.

Unknown: Was there a point when you started to feel like you were turning a corner with the ankle and it was getting better?

Love: It's just been taking it day by day. It's been getting better every single day. I mean, a turning point, I mean, can't really name a specific date because I started working on it as soon as it got hurt, like I was in, you know, getting in, getting the treatment, you know, getting stuff, you know, worked on. And I mean, it's just been getting better every week.

Unknown: I know things are so different than low ankle screens. How did you navigate that? And what was the biggest challenge of a turnover to become the high ankle screen partner?

Love: I didn't have to navigate it myself. I've got great trainers in here. The trainer I worked with was Derek. I worked with Drew, the head trainer. And those guys just made sure they got me in in the morning, made sure I was doing the right things. And just communication was the biggest part of making sure that I was feeling better every single day.

Unknown: Jeremy, were there moments where maybe you felt like you were ready to kind of ramp it up a little bit more and maybe they were just being a little cautious to make sure you were ready for this week?

Love: I mean, I've always been trying to just do more, you know, than what they want me to do. Like when I first injured it, like they wanted to put me in a boot. And I'm like, nah, I just want to walk around. You know, I want to, you know, fill it out and do my own thing. But, you know, them being trainers, they know what's best. So I kind of push myself all the time. So throughout this whole process of dealing with this high ankle, I've always just been pushing myself, getting extra work, and, you know, just trying to do the right things.

Unknown: At this point, do you expect to be all out there on Sunday?

Love: I mean, I expect to, you know, do whatever the coaches want me to do. You know, they want to put me out there. I'm going to go out there and play, you know, whether my ankle feels 100%, 50%, 70%. Like, I just want to play football. But, I mean, I'm going to fight my hardest to be out there, you know, every single game, every single of this season. And it's ultimately all comes down to coach's decision whether I'm hurt or not. So, yeah.

Unknown: If you do play, what are your thoughts on playing in your first NFL game?

Love: I'm excited. Not really nervous, you know. Just excited to get out there and do it with the boys. And just display what I can do.

Unknown: You said you're doing what the doctors and trainers are asking you to do. Are you generally a patient person when it comes to that kind of stuff?

Love: Yeah, always. You know, I have full trust in, you know, this organization and the people, you know, around this organization to, you know, have my best interest. So, like, I've always just been trusting these guys and just making sure that, you know, or them making sure that they're doing the right thing by me.

Unknown: What are some of the words that come to mind when you describe this offense? What do you like about it? What excites you?

Love: I'm going to mix explosive, you know. I think Coastal Ford can dial up some great plays. You know, he really knows how to study the player and design a specific play for that player so they can go out there and be themselves. And I feel like that's probably what I like most about this offense. You know, I just like LaFleur as a coach as well. He's a great guy off the field. Like, sometimes I don't even feel like you're my head coach. You know, like, he's just, he's that type of guy. But the offense in general is great. You know, a lot of guys, we got a lot of talent on this team and a lot of guys are going to make some plays.
