Browns Make Flurry of Roster Moves as 2026 Offseason Begins

The Cleveland Browns’ front office has been active in the days following the 2025 season finale, executing a series of roster moves that shape the initial 2026 offseason roster. The most notable transaction was signing linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio from the practice squad to the active roster on January 28, 2026. Ulofoshio, who saw limited action late in the year, will have an opportunity to compete for a role in a linebacker corps that has been hit by injuries.

Conversely, rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger was placed on injured reserve on the same date, ending his first professional season. The specific nature of his injury was not disclosed. These moves highlight the ongoing churn at the linebacker position, which also saw Nathaniel Watson land on IR earlier with a biceps injury.

In corresponding roster adjustments, the team released tackle Logan Brown, defensive tackle Ralph Holley, and cornerback LaMareon James on January 29. Furthermore, the Browns secured depth for the offseason by signing six players to future/reserve contracts. This group includes tight ends Sal Cannella and Caden Prieskorn, wide receiver Luke Floriea, running back Ahmani Marshall, and two offensive linemen. These players will be part of the 90-man offseason roster competing for spots in training camp under the new coaching regime.
